In the 1980s, Rafting landed for the first time in Europe and in 1987 a group of passionate canoeists founded the first Italian Rafting School in Villeneuve, in the Aosta Valley.
Rafting is recognized by CONI as a sporting discipline in 2010 when Rafting Aventure in collaboration with the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft) begins the annual organization of Italian Championships and Student Championships and stages of the European Rafting Cup.
